
As of 12 noon, Tuesday, September 3, 2023, one (1) road section in Central Luzon remains closed while two (2 roads in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Bicol Region have limited access due flooding.
Public Works and Highways Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from the DPWH Bureau of Maintenance said that a portion of Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road in Barangay Labi, Bongabon, Nueva Ecija is still closed to traffic.
Motorists may take Rizal - Pantabangan Road as alternative route until flooding along the road section has subsided.
Meanwhile, only heavy vehicles may take the Sumulong Highway fronting S&R in Marikina City, and EPZA By-Pass (Baraso Country Road) in Barangay Baseco, Mariveles, Bataan as both are still flooded.
The DPWH has mobilized its Disaster and Incident Management Teams (DIMT) across the affected Regional and District Engineering Offices, prepositioning 1,731 pieces of equipment and 7,105 personnel.
The DPWH Quick Response Teams have installed warning signs and traffic devices along the affected road sections.
A total of nine (9) road section have been cleared and reopened by the DPWH since yesterday, September 2, 2024 in CAR, Regions 2, 4A, 5, and 8.
DPWH Disaster and Incident Management Teams (DIMT) of affected Regional and District Engineering Offices were earlier activated with 1,731 equipment and 7,105 manpower prepositioned.
