P39-M Road Project Boosts Tourism Activities in Alilem, Ilocos Sur

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the road concreting project along Alilem-Sudipen Road to improve connectivity leading to tourist spots in the municipality of Alilem, Ilocos Sur Province.

DPWH Regional Office I Director Ronnel M. Tan, in his progress report to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, said that the completion of the road project now stimulates tourism activities that will give the much-needed boost for the various livelihood opportunities of the residents.

Civil Works of Samal Island-Davao City Connector Project Show Evident Progress

The highly anticipated modern scenic bridge project, implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), connecting the Island Garden City of Samal (IGaCoS) and Davao City, has made significant strides in both design and construction.

In his inspection report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, Senior Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain highlighted that the ongoing bored piling works for the land viaduct structure of the Samal Island-Davao City Connector (SIDC) Project, which began in May 2024, are progressing well.

Sadain said that the construction of the 1.34-kilometer, four (4)-lane, six (6)-span extradosed bridge and its approach roads over the Davao River which started in November 2023 has made significant strides, with completion now reaching 32.13%.

The construction of the 19-storey Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Bagong Pilipinas Building at Filinvest Corporate City in Alabang, Muntinlupa City was formally launched on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and FDA Director General Samuel A. Zacate led the ceremonial groundbreaking, joined by First Lady Maria Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos, Budget and Management Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman, and Assistant Secretary Charade Mercado-Grande representing Health Secretary Teodoro J. Herbosa.

New Bypass Road Augments Transportation in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte

A new bypass road built by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now provides a quicker and more comfortable travel in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte.

DPWH Region 9 Director Cayamombao Dia identified the project as the construction of a 1.5-kilometer concrete road with a line ditch spanning 1.9 kilometers in Barangay Maria Cristina.
