P16 M Drainage Project in Batanes Nears Completion

With the accomplishment rate of 85.88%, the drainage construction along the national road of Batanes Province is nearing completion within two months.

The P16.81 million project is implemented by Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office 02 through the Batanes District Engineering Office.

Curb and gutter were built along the national road which connects the municipalities of Basco, Mahatao, Ivana, Uyugan and Imnajbu. Other improvement activities also include the construction of cross drainage works and concreting of the road shoulder/sidewalks.

DWPH XI Girding for P38-Billion Infra

The Department of Public Works and Highways 11th Regional Office, this early, is now preparing for a possible P38-billion worth of infrastructure projects to be implemented for 2017.

According to Regional Director Mariano R. Alquiza, the office is now in receipt of the National Expenditure Program (NEP) for the year 2017. The NEP is yet to be approved by Congress who may cut or add the infra allocation. “But already, we now have a figure to reckon with and it is a very huge amount compared to the present 2016 infra allocation of P19.6-billion,” Alquiza said.

DPWH CALABARZON Completes Three Tourism Road Projects

Three (3) tourism road projects under the Department of Tourism (DOT) - DPWH Convergence Program of DPWH Region IV-A have been completed for CY 2015 Infrastructure Program.

These road projects funded by the DOT under the convergence program will make all travels to declared tourist spots convenient and accessible. Not only will these bring added revenue, these will also increase the tourism potential of the country.

The DPWH Regional Office IV-A reported the completion on March 2016 of the P68 million concrete paving of Maragondon-Alfonso Road, Cavite.

DPWH Zambales 2nd DEO Spearheads National Greening Program

In the pursuit of National Greening Program (NGP) objectives of the government, the Department of Public Works & Highways (DPWH) Zambales 2nd District Engineering Office led by District Engineer Hercules Manglicmot and Assistant District Engineer Rosbe S. Dizon, conducted its 2016 in Brgy. Nagbayan, Castillejos, Zambales.

More than one hundred employees, engineers and volunteers from the district engineering office and other organization chapters participated in the activity, successfully planting 1,500 Narra seedlings along the shoulder of the provincial road.

Leyte Farmers Get P134M Flood Control Structure From DPWH

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the rehabilitation of a mega flood-control structure that is seen to boost agricultural productivity of Leyte farmers especially during rainy season.

Agricultural lands, particularly those from Baybay City, are now protected against flood damages, with the completion of the P134 million rehabilitation and improvement of Dungcaan River Basin Flood Control Structure.

DPWH to Boost Capiz' Tourism and Agricultural Growth With New Bridge

The tourism industry and agricultural productivity in Capiz are seen to improve with the construction of a new bridge in the province.

The 40-lineal meter Bayuyan Bridge was built by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to link several agri-tourism sites in President Roxas, Capiz. This will provide better access to people who wish to visit the province’s tourist destinations including the Hinulugan Falls in Pilar and Lintiknon Falls in President Roxas.

Bauang Bridge Along MNR One Lane Passable This Weekend

The approach of Bauang Bridge 1 along Manila North Road, Bauang, La Union will undergo repair/concreting works starting 9 PM Friday, September 9, 2016.

The public and all motorists are hereby advised of the possible traffic congestion brought about by the repair which will render the bridge passable to only one (1) lane during this period.

DPWH in coordination with the Provincial Government of La Union and Municipality of Bauang has installed appropriate informative signs and barricades.

The repaired lane will be passable by Tuesday morning, September 13, 2016.
