DPWH now PGS Proficient

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has attained its Proficiency Stage on the Performance Governance System (PGS) pathway with a functional performance management tool using the Balanced Scorecard to effectively monitor its progress in operations.

DPWH completes P4-M widening of Leyte Bridge

A newly-widened bridge along Palo-Carigara-Ormoc Road in Barangay Jugaban, Carigara, Leyte has been opened by the Department of Public Works and Highways.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH Region 8 Director Edgar B. Tabacon said the P4.6 million Jugaban Bridge widening and strengthening project has been completed as scheduled by the DPWH Leyte Second District Engineering Office.

All-weather, PWD-friendly evacuation center to rise in Capiz

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is constructing a P34 million regional evacuation center in Western Visayas.

DPWH Region 6 Director Wenceslao M. Leaño Jr. said the construction of the evacuation center which is being built in the highland barangay of Milibili in Roxas City, Capiz, is being hasten for completion to immediately cater to the public when the need arises.

Construction of Capiz evacuation center in full implementation

The construction of the P34.740 million worth of regional evacuation center for the province of Capiz is currently in full implementation, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office VI.

Regional Director Wenceslao M. Leaño, Jr. inspected the project recently, along with Assistant Regional Director Jose Al V. Fruto, Maintenance Chief Engr. Oliver E. Zamora, Planning and Design Chief Engr. Marilou G. Zamora and Regional Public Affairs and Information Office.

River control systems constructed in Aklan

Two river control projects in the province of Aklan were completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Aklan District Engineering Office, one in the town of Kalibo and the other in Banga.

According to District Engineer Noel L. Fuentebella, the construction of revetment wall in Brgy. Bakhaw in Kalibo, along Aklan River is implemented in the contract amount of P82.649 million, while the revetment wall in Brgy. Linabuan in Banga has the contract amount of P31.716 million.
