A remarkable success was garnered by the DPWH Region 7 for meeting the requirements of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 standards and be certified for the Department’s Quality Management System.
The awarding ceremony was held last June 27, 2016 at the DPWH Central Office in Manila wherein other regional offices and pilot district offices were also granted certification after passing the audit conducted by Anglo-Japanese American (AJA) Registrars, an external certification group that determines whether the organization conforms with the international standards.
In Region 7, Cebu 1st DEO headed by DE Godofredo LAga Jr. was chosen as its pilot district and was also issued ISO Certification.
Former Secretary Rogelio L. Singson was also at present as he performed one of his last engagements as the agency’s head. He left a message assuring that the ISO certification program was an accomplishment since the Central Office, Regional Offices, the Unified Project Management Offices and 17 District Engineering Offices were finally certified. Head of Core Team, Atty. Ayaon S. Manggis was also given a Plaque of Appreciation for his efforts in bringing the whole DPWH Regional Office VII to this successful feat.
