San Fernando Bypass Now Open to Two-Way Traffic

Friday, July 15, 2016

The Department of Public Works and Highways has lifted the one-way traffic scheme on portion of San Fernando-San Juan Bypass Road which is undergoing road rehabilitation and repair.

Motorists can now ply along the bypass road both northbound and southbound directions but will have to follow a “stop and go” traffic scheme particularly at section KM270+000 to KM274+800 where some lanes are closed for repair.

Informative traffic signs are in place to guide motorists who are also advised to use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion. Rehabilitation of San Fernando-San Juan Bypass Road is being implemented at a cost of P39 million by DPWH La Union First District Engineering Office. It involves reblocking of carriageway and concreting of shoulder, provision of drainage canal, and painting works.
