2 Road Sections in Caraga closed due to Auring

As of Monday, February 22, 2021, two (2) national road sections in Region 13 are impassable due to scoured bridge slope protection and road slip brought by Tropical Storm Auring.

Citing a report from the Department of Public Works and Highways Bureau of Maintenance, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that one (1) of the affected sections is theSurigao-Davao Coastal Road, K1362+689 Hubo Bridge in San Agustin, Tandag City, Surigao del Sur which has a scoured slope protection.

Residents of Barangay Sagrada in Minalabac, Camarines Sur has been reaping the benefits of the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) completed farm-to-market road (FMR) in their community.

According to Secretary Mark A. Villar, the improvement into concrete of the 1-kilometer FMR was implemented by DPWH Camarines Sur 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) from July 2020 to December 2020.

An improved Sagbayan-Danao Road completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now ensures a quick and safe travel for motorists in Inabanga, Bohol.

“When we opened this upgraded road to traffic, travel time from the municipality of Sagbayan to Danao was reduced from 45 minutes to only 25 minutes”, said Secretary Mark A. Villar.

“Since this 2-lane Sagbayan-Danao Road is a connectivity highway, enhancement in land transport will also aid in boosting major industries such as farming, fishing, and mat-weaving”, added Secretary Villar.

DPWH Acts on Netizens Report of Uneven Roads in Tacloban, Manila

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) have recently fixed two (2) road sections with potholes and uneven carriageway, thanks to concerned citizens who reported the road defects through social media.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the Department’s social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter which are also used as platforms for citizens engagement have received feedback on damaged pavement along Maharlika Highway in Tacloban City and along Mel Lopez Boulevard formerly R-10 in the City of Manila.
