DPWH Welcomes New JICA PHL Chief Representative in Courtesy Call

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Roger G. Mercado lauded the ever supportive role played by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in shaping and bolstering the infrastructure landscape in the Philippines.

During the courtesy visit to Secretary Mercado on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, newly-appointed JICA Philippines Chief Representative Takema Sakamoto reassured their unrelenting support not only for ongoing and new pipeline infrastructure projects but also in strengthening Japanese technology transfer through capacity building program.

DPWH Clarifies Scope and Budgetary Requirement for Davao City Coastal Road Project

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) would like to emphasize that the Davao City Coastal Road Project is a composite highway with larger components, and "very different" from ordinary highways.

Secretary Roger G. Mercado said that this road is one of the agency's flagship projects in Davao to solve the burgeoning traffic along the Cotabato - Davao Road starting from Toril area going to the city proper.

DPWH Delivers Vital Projects in Mountain Region of Cordillera

In an effort to improve regional connectivity, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Cordillera Administrative Regional Office delivered a total of 64.8-kilometers of roads amounting to P1.318-billion in 2021.

DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado said that DPWH CAR has completed 467 out of the 726 programmed projects for 2021 with 256 projects still on-going and three (3) projects to be started.
