DPWH Completes 3 Evacuation Centers for Typhoon Prone Town of Dingalan, Aurora

Three (3) newly-constructed evacuation centers by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now better prepare residents in the Municipality of Dingalan in Aurora during heavy rains come rainy season.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and Undersecretary for Operations in Central Luzon Roberto R. Bernardo, DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino identified the Barangays of Butas na Bato, Matawe, and Umiray as the recipients of the evacuation centers.

New Flood Control Structure Completed in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has delivered the completion of a flood control structure along Andoon River that aims to protect residents in the city of San Carlos, Negros Occidental during heavy rains.

DPWH Region 6 Director Nerie D. Bueno in her report to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan explained that the project is built downstream of Andoon River along Bacolod North Road to complement the already completed structure at the other bank.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has delivered the completion of a flood control structure along Andoon River that aims to protect residents in the city of San Carlos, Negros Occidental during heavy rains.

Booster Pumps Along Manila’s Estero de San Miguel Underway

The Department of Public Works and Highways is currently rushing the installation of new booster pumps along Estero de San Miguel at Mendiola Street, Manila City, in an effort to make it operational for flood-mitigation during the rainy season.

According to a report from DPWH National Capital Region Director Loreta M. Malaluan, the ongoing booster pump project has received an allocation of P100 million for Phase 1 and another P100 million for Phase 2.

Tan said that the new protective structure at Barangay Tiep is part of the asset preservation project aimed at improving road conditions and providing better access to residents.
