DPWH Gears Up Construction of Panguil Bay Bridge Sub-Structure

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is gearing up to start the sub-structure works of the 3.169 kilometer Panguil Bay Bridge Project with sets of construction equipment requirements deployed on-site.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that although restriction on the movement of people and goods because of the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the bridge construction, the contractor can now go full blast with the delivery of equipment and materials to be used for its foundation works.

DPWH to Partially Open Bridge Connecting BGC-Ortigas in May

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) targets to partially open this May 2021 the Sta. Monica-Lawton Bridge which is a major component of the BGC-Ortigas Road Link Project.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the Sta Monica-Lawton Bridge, the superstructure that will connect across Pasig River the Lawton Avenue in Makati City and Sta. Monica Street in Pasig City, is already finished.

DPWH Responds to Report of Excessive Dust along Eastern Samar Road

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has addressed a facebook complaint on dust pollution along a portion of Buenavista Salcedo Road in the town of Salcedo, Eastern Samar.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, citing a report from District Engineer Ma. Margarita C. Junia of DPWH Eastern Samar District Engineering Office (ESDEO) said that a concerned citizen reported the excessive dust which is allegedly due to hauled excavated materials on the road from an ongoing construction inside Salcedo Elementary School.

Southern Leyte Gets P332.1-M Flood-Control Projects this 2021

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is set to implement a total of nine (9) flood-mitigation projects for the flood-prone areas of Southern Leyte.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, District Engineer Manolo Rojas of DPWH Southern Leyte District Engineering Office (SLDEO) said that the province has received an allocation of P332.91 from the 2021 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has started dredging activities in Kalaklan River in Olongapo City, Zambales to address heavy siltation and prevent flooding in the city.

Based on a report from DPWH Region 3 Director Roseller Tolentino, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that a cutter suction dredger was deployed in the river to allow unrestricted passage of runoff towards Subic Bay.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) had recently completed the rehabilitation of an access road leading to Kaitulari Ecopark located in the mountainous part of Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental.

Citing a report by DPWH Negros Occidental 2nd OIC-District Engineer Rolando P. Valdez, Secretary Mark A. Villar explained that the completed project covers the repair along 1.28-kilometer road 230-millimeter thick with 6.10-meter width concrete pavement with stone masonry, metal guardrail including post and metal beam end piece.
