Six-lane Davao River Bridge opens

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the widening of Davao River Bridge along Davao City Diversion Road in Davao City, Davao del Sur.

President Rodrigo R. Duterte and Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar formally opened to motoring public the newly-widened bridge on Thursday, May 24, 2018 together with Davao City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte, Davao City First District Rep. Karlo Alexei B. Nograles, DPWH Senior Undersecretary Rafael C. Yabut, DPWH Undersecretary Dimas S. Soguilon, and DPWH Region 11 Director Allan S. Borromeo.

Q2 meeting of DPWH Planning Engineers held in W. Visayas

The Department of Public Works and Highways Regional (DPWH) Office 6 hosted the 2nd Quarter Coordination Meeting of Regional and District Planning Engineers at the Eon Centennial Hotel and Waterpark last May 17, 2018.

OIC-Chief Marilou G. Zamora of DPWH Region 6 Planning and Design Division welcomed the participants, followed by an opening remarks from Bureau of Design (BOD) OIC-Director Lea N. Delfinado who discuss the organizational background of the BOD.

Better Guimaras road in time for “Manggahan Festival”

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed road improvement works along Guimaras Circumferential Road in Guimaras Province in time for its “Manggahan Festival” this May.

District Engineer Rhodora B. Nuñal of DPWH Guimaras District Engineering Office said road repair along the 1.7-kilometer San Miguel, Jordan section of the Guimaras Circumferential Road was rushed for completion to provide better traffic access to both foreign and local tourists who are expected to flock the province during the celebration.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is appealing for local government units (LGUs) participation in maintaining rightful space for motorists and pedestrians along national roads and sidewalks.

DPWH National Capital Region Director Melvin B. Navarro made the statement following another round of clearing operations along the newly-widened Road Radial 10 (R-10) in Manila.

Director Navarro said recurrent road obstructions along R-10 vary from illegally-parked vehicles, vendors, garbage, permanent and temporary structures.

New Bolobolo Bridge in Misamis Oriental set to complete this June

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is working for the completion of additional four (4) lanes from existing 2-lane Bolobolo Bridge and approaches along Butuan-Cagayan de Oro-Iligan Road (BCIR), in the city of El Salvador, Misamis Oriental province.

The 35-lineal meter Bolobolo Bridge with 892-lineal meter paved road approaches is expected to open to vehicular traffic this June 2018 and is seen to provide a smoother traffic flow in the area.
