Paving Works for Gandara-Matuguinao Road in Samar now on final phase

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will soon commence work for the third and final phase of a road project that will connect the municipalities of Gandara and Matuguinao in Samar Province.

According to DPWH Region 8 Director Edgar B. Tabacon, the last groundbreaking rites for the contract covering the paving of a total of 3.5-kilometers of road, 80-meter slope protection works, and a 1.5-kilometer concrete lined canal is scheduled within this second quarter of 2018.

DPWH to Public: Report advertisements, campaign signs installed within road right-of-way

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is calling on the general public to report road right-of-way (RROW) violations, specifically signs with road messages and advertisements installed or displayed within RROW.

The call was made after recent reports of unauthorized gantry signs installed within the RROW of national roads. These road obstructions are prohibited pursuant to the provisions of Section 23 of Presidential Decree (PD) No. 17, also known as the Revised Philippine Highway Act and the National Building Code of the Philippines (PD No. 1096).

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) inaugurated the phase 3 of a multi-billion peso answer to flooding caused by channel overflow of the Pasig-Marikina River.

DPWH Resumes Pipe Installation at Bonifacio Drive this Weekend

The four (4) southbound lanes of Bonifacio Drive will once again be closed to traffic, as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) resumes 24/7 works for a flood control project aimed to minimize flooding around the vicinity of Manila City Hall.

According to DPWH-NCR Director Melvin B. Navarro, the segment from sidewalk of Bonifacio Drive corner P. Burgos Street will be closed effective Saturday, May 27, 2017 for the installation of 2-rows, 27-lineal meter long, 60 inches diameter reinforced concrete pipe culvert.
