New Roads Benefit Residents in Far-Flung Communities in Central Iloilo

Far-flung communities in the central part of Iloilo are now reaping the benefits of concrete paved roads delivered to completion by the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) in the towns of Sta. Barbara and Alimodian.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the completed road improvement projects will make a vital contribution to the economic development and growth of Iloilo.

Motorists will now be able to use the first 18-kilometer portion of the Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEX) from SCTEX/TPLEX connection in Tarlac City up to the intersection of Aliaga-Guimba Road in Aliaga, Nueva Ecija.

Villar Conducts Final Inspection Ahead of CLLEX Partial Opening

The Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEX) will be opened to the motoring public this week.

This was announced by DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar in today, July 14, 2021 final inspection of the four (4)-lane expressway project connecting Tarlac and Nueva Ecija.

“As declared a month ago, we will inaugurate on Thursday, July 15, 2021, the first 18-kilometer section of CLLEX from Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX)/Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) connection in Tarlac City up to the intersection of Aliaga-Guimba Road in Aliaga, Nueva Ecija”, said Secretary Villar.

DPWH Turns Over Mega Quarantine Facility in Zamboanga City

In an effort to ramp-up available facilities for isolation of Covid-19 infected persons in Western Mindanao, the Department of Public Works and Highways has (DPWH) has completed the conversion of the old Zamboanga Convention Center in Pasonanca, Zamboanga City.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that the newly-converted Convention Center into mega-quarantine facility with 188 beds will provide management, monitoring and treatment of asymptomatic and moderate Covid-19 patients.

Widened Angat Bridge along Arterial Bypass Road in Bulacan Now Open

Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar announced the opening of an expanded 2.22-kilometer section of Arterial Plaridel Bypass Road including one (1) of Luzon’s longest bridge across Angat River in Bustos, Bulacan.

Secretary Villar said that the additional two (2) new lanes will enhance transport capacity of the bypass road experiencing traffic growth with increasing number of motorists going eastern part of Bulacan and Nueva Ecija.
