Widened Lictinon Bridge Provides Better Inter-Municipal Connection in Iloilo

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has provided better accessibility among Iloilo towns after the widening of Lictinon Bridge along the Barotac Viejo-San Rafael Road in Iloilo.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the widened 26-linear-meter Lictinon complements the existing 4-lane Barotac Viejo-San Rafael Road and now caters more motorists allowing for a better land travel within San Rafael and nearby towns.

Multipurpose Buildings Benefit Indigenous People in Bukidnon

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently completed two (2) multi-purpose buildings that now serve indigenous people in the province of Bukidnon.

In a report to Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH Region 10 Director Zenaida Tan said that the buildings located in the Municipalities of Impasug-ong and Kitaotao can now be used as venue for learning, meetings and activities, as well as temporary shelter for transients.

2 Road Sections in Caraga closed due to Auring

As of Monday, February 22, 2021, two (2) national road sections in Region 13 are impassable due to scoured bridge slope protection and road slip brought by Tropical Storm Auring.

Citing a report from the Department of Public Works and Highways Bureau of Maintenance, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that one (1) of the affected sections is theSurigao-Davao Coastal Road, K1362+689 Hubo Bridge in San Agustin, Tandag City, Surigao del Sur which has a scoured slope protection.

Flood Control Project Completed in Southern Leyte

Residents in the low-lying barangays of Macrohon, Southern Leyte are now less susceptible to flooding with the construction of a flood mitigation structure by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that DPWH Southern Leyte District Engineering Office has completed a 425-meter flood control project aimed to mitigate overflowing along Amparo River, directly benefiting Barangays Amparo and Mabini .
