DPWH to Dredge 50,000 Cubic Meters of Spoil from Marikina River

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has commenced its operations to dredge an estimated 50,000 cubic meters of soil, sand, and silt along Marikina River in an effort to increase its capacity in handling rainwater and prevent overflow.

Citing a report from DPWH Bureau of Equipment (BOE) Director Toribio Noel L. Ilao, Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the dredging operation started on February 17, 2021 is expected to be carried-out towards the summer season within two (2) to three (3) months.

Pasacao-Balatan Tourism Coastal Highway in Camarines Sur Underway

The construction of the 40.69-kilometer Pasacao-Balatan Tourism Coastal Highway that is seen to open more economic opportunities in Bicol Region is now ongoing.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar made the statement, citing that the ongoing project which is envisioned to cut travel time in by traversing five (5) municipalities in the province has so far received an allocation of P405.6 million from 2018-2020 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

DPWH Turns Over P41.9-M Quarantine Facility in Mariveles, Bataan

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that a new quarantine facility has been completed in Barangay Alasasin, Mariveles as part of the government’s efforts to stop the spread COVID-19 virus.

“We have officially turned over to the local government of Mariveles a total of three (3) units of health facilities with individual quarters, comfort rooms, separate quarters for health personnels, and nurses’ station to aid in the LGU’s intensified efforts,” added Secretary Villar.

Bypass Road Projects to Reduce Travel Time To Bislig, Surigao Del Sur

Two (2) major bypass road projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) are in full blast to ease the living condition of residents in Bislig town, Surigao del Sur.

“Once completed, motorists no longer have to pass through the long and winding Surigao-Davao-Coastal Road (SDCR), thereby cutting travel time from approximately an hour to only 30 minutes”, said Secretary Mark A. Villar.

Bypass Road Projects to Reduce Travel Time To Bislig, Surigao Del Sur

Two (2) major bypass road projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) are in full blast to ease the living condition of residents in Bislig town, Surigao del Sur.

“Once completed, motorists no longer have to pass through the long and winding Surigao-Davao-Coastal Road (SDCR), thereby cutting travel time from approximately an hour to only 30 minutes”, said Secretary Mark A. Villar.

Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that the Department has recently completed the widening of a section of Kapalong-Talaingod-Valencia Road in the town of San Fernando, Bukidnon.

“Since the Kapalong-Talaingod-Valencia road connects the province of Bukidnon and Davao del Norte, these extra lanes added will definitely cater to the increasing number of vehicles traversing the section and at the same time, improve traffic safety,” said Secretary Villar.
