1,482 DPWH-NCR Roadside Workers Get Insurance Policy

A total of 1,482 road maintenance workers of the Department of Public Works and Highways-National Capital Region are now entitled to a Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Membership Insurance.

DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado made the announcement, citing a report from DPWH Senior Undersecretary Rafael C. Yabut and DPWH National Capital Region Director Nomer Abel P. Canlas who led the turnover of accident insurance policy cards to the roadside workers.

DPWH Resumes EDSA Reblocking this Weekend

Several sections of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue in the cities of Quezon, Caloocan, and Pasay will be temporarily closed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) over the weekend to undertake rehabilitation of damaged pavement.

DPWH National Capital Region (DPWH NCR) Director Nomer Abel P. Canlas identified affected sections at the south bound direction of EDSA as: 1) in front of A. de Jesus Street, fifth lane from sidewalk in Caloocan City; and 2) from Panay Avenue to Mother Ignacia Street, second lane from sidewalk in Quezon City.

DPWH Kicks Off Month-Long Celebration for Women's Month 2022

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officially launched month-long activities and programs on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 in celebration of the National Women’s Month – enacted through Presidential Proclamation 227, series of 1988.

The annual celebration focused on the theme “WE Make CHANGE Work for Women: Agenda ng Kababaihan Tungo sa Kaunlaran,” to emphasize the huge contributions of women towards achieving social and economic developments.

DPWH Completes 1,321 Projects in Central Luzon for 2021

Consistent with its role to provide quality road infrastructure, the Department of Public Works and Highways accomplished 1,321 projects under the 2021 Regular Infrastructure Program in Region 3.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado, DPWH Region 3 Director Roseller Tolentino said that Central Luzon Region with 14 District Engineering Offices (DEOs) has completed and rehabilitated 98.68-kilometers of road amounting to P2.68 billion; 22.3-kilometers of asphalt overlay project amounting P244 million; and rehabilitated 20 bridges costing P428 million.
