New Classrooms Cater Hundred More Students in Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a two (2) storey school building in Gatol High School, Barangay San Roque, Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro to accommodate the needs for classrooms of students.

Based on a report submitted by DPWH Region 4-B Director Gerald A. Pacanan, the P24-million school building project involves the construction of 8 classrooms that will cater to an approximate number of 161 students.

The school building will benefit high school learners from Barangays San Roque, Benli, and Nasucob.

Paved Road Improves Access to Far-Flung Areas of Negros Occidental

A 5.94-kilometer concrete paved access road was completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to ease travel to the mountainous terrain of Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.

DPWH Regional Office 6 Director Nerie D. Bueno in her report to Secretary Manuel Bonoan, explained that the concrete road stretches from Sitio Magtanday to Sitio Omas in Barangay Camindangan, a far-flung community in Sipalay City that was unreachable due to poor accessibility brought by the muddy and dusty old gravel road.

With a combined length of 1-kilometer, the dikes in Gubat and Juban now ensure the security of the coastal communities and safeguards their source of livelihood as reported by Regional Office 5 Director Virgilio C. Eduarte to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and Undersecretary for Central Luzon Operations Roberto R. Bernardo, DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino said that the slope protection was completed in Quitangil Creek’s section that runs along Barangay Turu in Magalang town.
