Road Construction and Repairs Completed in Pastrana and Jaro, Leyte

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has successfully completed rehabilitation and construction projects in two (2) high-traffic roads in the municipalities of Pastrana and Jaro, Leyte, enhancing mobility and boosting local productivity.

In Pastrana, road works were completed in Barangay Socsocon, along sections of the Sta. Fe-Pastrana-Dagami Road, which cover the reblocking of 113.47 square meters of portland concrete cement pavement (PCCP) and application of 712 meters of asphalt overlay.

DPWH Strengthens 50-Year Old Bridge in Abra

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently completed the retrofitting of Don Mariano Marcos Bridge along Abra-Kalinga Road, enhancing transportation safety and infrastructure resilience in the Municipality of Dolores, Abra.

The project covers the repair and upgrading of the bridge that connects Barangays Bumagcat, Tayum, and Mudiit.

The old bridge requires retrofitting to meet current seismic load requirements of the structure, and conform to the latest standard design guidelines, criteria, and specifications of the Department.

Updates on the Status of National Roads and Bridges due to Tropical Cyclones “Kristine” and “Leon” October 31, 2024 as of 6:00PM

Ten (10) national road sections are closed to traffic: one (1) in CAR, two (2) in Region II, two (2) in Region III, one (1) in Region IV-A, three (3) in Region V, and one (1) in Region VII due to flooding, mudslide, rockfall, landslide, soil collapse, collapsed road and road slip.

Two (2) national bridges are unpassable: one (1) in Region IV-A, and one (1) in Region V due to collapsed bridges.

The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) has recognized the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for its unwavering dedication to delivering quality public service.

Twelve (12) national road sections are closed to traffic: one (1) in Region II, two (2) in Region III, three (3) in Region IV-A, five (5) in Region V, and one (1) in Region VII due to flooding, collapsed road, flooding, silted pavement, landslide, fallen tree, damaged slope protection, washed-out guardrails and signages, soil erosion, soil/rock collapse and road slip.

Three (3) national bridges are unpassable: one (1) in Region II, one (1) in Region IV-A, and one (1) in Region V due to scoured bridge approach, washed-out bridge and collapsed bridge.

DPWH Reactivates “Lakbay-Alalay” Program for Undas 2024

Following the recent onslaught of Typhoon Kristine in many parts of the country, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has been conducting massive cleanup drives and repair works on national roads and bridges to ensure road safety and efficient travel experience for the upcoming All Souls Day and All Saints Day.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan directed the deployment of composite teams to strategic locations nationwide to manage the anticipated surge of motorists, ensuring smoother and safer travel from 8:00 am October 31, 2024, until 5:00 pm November 2, 2024.
