The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has built a flood control structure along Jaro-Aganan River in the municipality of Alimodian, Iloilo.
DPWH Region 6 Director Sanny Boy Oropel mentioned in his report that the 697-meter long, 6-meter high concrete vertical revetment wall on sheet pile foundation will provide protection to the flood-prone barangay Poblacion against raging waters during heavy rains or typhoons.
A newly-constructed two (2)-storey school building by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will benefit an estimated number of 160 students in Tipanoy Elementary School, Iligan City, Lanao del Norte.
Based on a report received by Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan from DPWH Region 10 Director Zenaida T. Tan, the new school building was designed to have four (4) spacious classrooms, enough to provide primary education students a conducive environment for learning.

Only those who have passed the rigorous District Engineer Candidates Course (DECC) may be designated and/or appointed to the District Engineer positions in the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
This was stressed by DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan through Department Order No. 113, series of 2024, which reiterates the course requisite for DE position, on top of the prescribed qualifications standards (QS) encompassing performance, education and training, experience and outstanding accomplishments, potential and personality traits.
