Paved FMRs Improve Travel in Labason, Zamboanga del Norte

Two (2) farm-to-market roads (FMR) improved by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now enable a more efficient transportation for agri-communities in the municipality of Labason, Zamboanga del Norte.

DPWH Regional Office 9 Director Cayamombao D. Dia reported that residents and local farmers now benefit from an 827-lineal meter, 2-lane portland cement concrete pavement road in Barangay Lawagan, and another 2-lane concrete paved road measuring 655 lineal meters in Barangay Kipit.

DPWH Completes 80% of Arayat-Magalang Bypass Road in Pampanga

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has reached significant accomplishment in its implementation of a bypass road project aimed to better connect the towns of Arayat and Magalang in the Province of Pampanga.

According to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino and DPWH Pampanga First District Engineer Almer C. Miranda reported a completion rate of 80 percent for the works under the P96.5-million allocation in the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA) for the Arayat Segment of the Arayat-Magalang Bypass Road Project.

New Seawall Protects Coastal Community in Guimaras

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a slope protection structure to defend coastal communities against overflow in Nueva Valencia, Guimaras.

In his report to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and Undersecretary for Visayas Operations Roberto R. Bernardo, DPWH Region 6 Director Sanny Boy O. Oropel said that the project built along the coastal barangay of Canhawan involves the construction of a 105-lineal meter, concrete flood control system.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of an access road leading to Mount Cagua in Gonzaga, Cagayan.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Region II Director Reynaldo C. Alconcel, mentioned that with the construction of a 2.1-kilometer two (2)-lane road, motorists now enjoy a smooth, and fast driving experience, particularly in Barangay Santa Clara.

Officials and employees of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Central Office observed earthquake safety procedures during this year’s first National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 9:00 AM.
