DPWH Delivers Access Road, FMR in Southern Negros Occidental

Two (2) local roads improved by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now boost tourism and agriculture development in the city of Sipalay and the town of Hinobaan, Negros Occidental.

DPWH Region 6 Director Sanny Boy O. Oropel reported the completion of a 1.7-kilometer concrete road leading to tourist destinations in Barangay Nauhang, Sipalay City such as the Sugar and Langub beaches.

Mega Bridge Project in Talavera, Nueva Ecija Receives Additional Funding

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is set to implement the superstructure for the ongoing Caaninaplahan-Pantoc Bulac Bridge — a 163.07-meter bridge project across Talavera River in Talavera, Nueva Ecija.

In his update to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH-Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino reported that the second phase of the bridge was completed ahead of schedule, and DPWH will commence works for its third phase which has received an allocation of P50 million from the 2024 GAA.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is set to implement the superstructure for the ongoing Caaninaplahan-Pantoc Bulac Bridge — a 163.07-meter bridge project across Talavera River in Talavera, Nueva Ecija.

DPWH-ADB Kicks Off 5-day Consultation Mission on New Major River Basin Projects

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) held a meeting on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, to discuss the project features and financing of the proposed Integrated Flood Resilience and Adaptation Project Phase 2 (InFRA 2) which aims to improve the flood risk management along three (3) major river basins in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has finished access road projects to enhance connectivity of rural communities in the municipalities of Mahayag and San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur.

In her report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and Undersecretary for Mindanao Operations Eugenio R. Pipo, Jr., Region 9 Director Cayamombao D. Dia said that a 933.7-meter concrete paved farm-to-market road (FMR) in Barangay Upper Salug Daku, Mahayag now benefits local farmers with hastened transport of agricultural goods such as rice, coconut, and corn.

The anticipated bridge project that will connect two (2) barangays in Calbayog City, Samar is set to begin construction this year, with approved funding under the 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA) of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, Region 8 Director Edgar B. Tabacon stated that a total amount of P150 million was allocated this year for the four-lane bridge component of the ongoing Calbayog City Coastal Road Project connecting Barangay San Policarpo to Barangay Rawis.
