Repair of Bohol’s Makapiko Bridge Approach Completed

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed its P43.12-million rehabilitation and strengthening of the eroded Makapiko Bridge approach at the boundary of Balilihan-Batuan, Bohol Province.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from the DPWH Bohol 3rd District Engineering Office (DEO), said that the reconstruction of slope protection at the approach of the bridge was recently completed to prevent possible collapse or damage on the road, posing danger to road-users traversing the section of Balilihan-Hanopol-Batuan Road.

4-Lane Diversion Road Decongests Traffic in Baras, Catanduanes

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently completed the construction of Maria Joson Teves Diversion Road which has improved mobility in Baras, Catanduanes.

Spanning over 426.5 meters, the four-lane by-pass road with bridge component connects Barangay Osmeña to Barangay Bagong Sirang, diverting traffic from the town proper.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Regional Director Virgilio C. Eduarte said that the diversion road will also serve as a protection to the agricultural communities proximate to the Macutal River, Quezon Section.

Citing a report from DPWH Quezon 3rd District Engineering Office, DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan said that the completion of a two (2)-lane bridge spanning 30 meters with 7.32 meters width, will facilitate safe passage across the river.
