New Access Road to Boost Tourism, Marine Economy in Makato, AklanThe Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is fast-tracking the construction of an access road traversing potential tourist attractions in the town of Makato, Aklan.

According to DPWH Regional Office 6 Director Nerie D. Bueno, the P33.3 million project in convergence with the Department of Tourism (DOT) spans 1.74 kilometers long and 6.10 meters wide.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is fast-tracking the construction of an access road traversing potential tourist attractions in the town of Makato, Aklan.

According to DPWH Regional Office 6 Director Nerie D. Bueno, the P33.3 million project in convergence with the Department of Tourism (DOT) spans 1.74 kilometers long and 6.10 meters wide.

DPWH Aklan District Engineering Office has concreted 550 lineal meters of the road and is expediting the paving of the remaining portion of the access road.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has provided the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) in Barangay Alas-Asin, Mariveles, Bataan with a new three-storey multi-purpose building (MPB).

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, said that the DPWH Bataan Second District Engineering Office (DEO) implemented the construction of the MPB, which now serves as an added venue for conducting various activities inside the economic zone.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and Undersecretary Eugenio R. Pipo Jr., DPWH Region 1 Director Ronnel M. Tan said that the seawall project was completed in Barangay Taboc, San Juan, La Union to protect residents from waves during torrential downpours and severe weather conditions.
