Raising the Bar for Education

Aiming to step up in the field of Education, the Municipality of Malalag established Albatera Elementary School and became the very first school in the District with one of its buildings donated by a private company. Due to the increase in student population every school year, the school experienced classroom shortage. To address this, some classes were taught whether at the school stage or in the open field. The DPWH Davao del Sur 2nd District Engineering Office upon seeing the problem, awarded a 1-storey 1-classroom DepEd School Building to the Albatera School Administration.

DPWH Resumes Repair of Bonifacio Drive, Widening of Anda Circle on January 11

The reconstruction and improvement of Bonifacio Drive and widening of Anda Circle in Port Area, Manila has resumed on Monday, January 11, 2016.

Department of Public Works and Highways-National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) Regional Director Melvin B. Navarro said they waited for the grand celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene on Saturday before they go on full-blast for the programmed road repair in the area.

“After the feast, we shall continue with the reconstruction and widening of Bonifacio Drive and Anda Circle on Monday, to ensure that we complete the project by March this year,” said Navarro.

Material Engineers' Accreditation Exam Set On March 14

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will conduct accreditation examination of Contractors' and Consultants' Materials Engineers on March 14, 2015.

DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson said that accreditation examination is to strengthen Quality Assurance Program of the Department and to ensure that only qualified and accredited Materials Engineers can be assigned by Contractors and Consultants to DPWH projects.

All registered and licensed civil engineers, including foreigners, may apply for accreditation.

Roads to Draw Tourist Adventure in Ilocos Region Completed

The completion of four (4) roads to declared tourism destinations topped the lists of projects accomplished in CY 2014 by the Department of Public Works and Highways in Ilocos Region.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson, DPWH Region 1 Director Melanio C. Briosos said that road construction/improvement project leading to three (3) tourism sites in Pangasinan and one (1) in Ilocos Norte were completed.

Construction of School Building Underway

A P22.5 million four-storey schoolbuilding project is being undertaken by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) NCR-Metro Manila 1st District Engineering Office in Barangay West Crame, San Juan City. The project is now 43% complete. Once completed, an estimated 2000 students, mostly children of the country’s police force are expected to benefit from this 20 classroom school building.

DPWH Extends Submission of Bid Proposal for CCLEX Project to February 9

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has postponed the February 2, 2015 bid submission schedule for Tarlac Section under Phase 1 of Central Luzon Link Expressway Project (CLLEX) to February 9, 2015.

The seven (7) days extension will enable the DPWH to respond to additional clarification or queries raised by prospective contractors or bidders.
