Newly-Paved Road Benefits People of Matanao, Davao del Sur

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed its P49-million road concreting project that now benefits Barangays Cabasagan and Bangkal in Matanao, Davao del Sur.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Davao del Sur District Engineer Nicomedes D. Parilla, Jr. said that the newly-paved road stretching 2.78 kilometers provides smoother and faster access between Barangays Cabasagan and Bangkal. The road has connected since September 2022 the neighboring communities to nearby schools, farms and markets.

Communities near Sipalay River, Negros Occidental that are prone to flooding are now protected by a new revetment wall constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The 420-lineal meter revetment wall built in the amount of P54.75 million now protects residents of Barangays Gil Montilla, Nauhang, and Mambaroto from water overflow during heavy rains and other calamities.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a flood mitigation structure along Cansaga River in Barangay Danglag, Consolacion, Cebu to protect residents and their properties against major flooding during heavy rains.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, Regional Office 7 Director Ernesto S. Gregorio Jr. said that the flood control structure is intended to prevent the possible shifting of river ways and loss of land mass along the area.

Bernardo that the completion of the 120-lineal-meter Bridge, which now links Barangay Obligacion to Baler’s town center in Barangay Reserva.

Asphalt Overlay Improves Travel in Southern Negros Occidental Towns

Traveling to various areas in southern Negros Occidental is now safer and more convenient with the improvement of Binalbagan-Isabela Road by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

In her report to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and Undersecretary for Regional Operations Roberto R. Bernardo, DPWH Region VI Director Nerie D. Bueno said that the project implemented by DPWH Negros Occidental 2nd District Engineering Office involved the asphalt overlay of a 1.1-kilometer portion of the existing two (2)-lane concrete road along the towns of Binalbagan and Isabela.
