The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a flood control structure along a critical section of the Catanauan River to mitigate the recurring flood risks in Barangay 10, Catanauan, Quezon Province.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Region IV-A Director Jovel G. Mendoza, said that the 380-lineal meter revetment-type flood control project is designed to address the overflowing of Catanauan River into the communities and agricultural lands.

According to DPWH Regional Office 6 Director Sanny Boy Oropel, the project involved the construction of a 634.1-linear meter long, 13.4-meter wide concrete road with two (2) lanes or one (1) lane for each direction.

A concrete paving project by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is ongoing on a 5.4-lane kilometer access road leading to Malamawi White Beach in Isabela City, Basilan.

In her report to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and Undersecretary for Regional Operations in Mindanao Eugenio R. Pipo, Jr., DPWH Region 9 Director Cayamombao Dia said that the road paving project in convergence with the Department of Tourism, with an allocation of P108.9 million.
