DPWH conducts Multi-Sector Governance Council 2018 1st Quarter Meeting

Taking off from last year’s Silver Trailblazer finish and passing the Proficiency Stage Revalida in flying colors, the DPWH-PGS under the chairmanship of Undersecretary Maria Catalina E. Cabral, convened the Multi-Sector Governance Council (MSGC) for its 1st quarter meeting for 2018. New member partner from the academe (Dr. Bernardo Villegas of the University of Asia and the Pacific) was welcomed together with past members (Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines, National Competitiveness Council – Philippines, Confederation of Filipino Consulting Organizations Inc.

DPWH 6 gears up for ISO 9001:2015

After being conferred the ISO 9001:2008 in 2006, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office VI is now preparing the requirements for its transition to ISO 9001:2015.

During the launching ceremony, Regional Director Wenceslao M. Leaño, Jr. said that ISO 9001:20015 focuses more on risk-based thinking.

“This requires us to determine, consider and take action to address any risks or opportunities that might impact our Quality Management System (QMS)’s ability to deliver conformance or which might impact customer satisfaction,” he added.

Construction to start on P230 million underpass road project in Lucena City

The Department of Public Works and Highways District Engineer Nestor I. Cleofas of Quezon II DEO led a groundbreaking ceremony for the new underpass road project along Daang Maharlika Highway, MSR Diversion road and Lucena-Tayabas-Mauban Port road on February 21, 2017.

The 490 meter long road project aims to primarily decongest the traffic in the Manila-Bicol route.
