DPWH Albay 2nd DEO lends helping hands to victims of Typhoon Nina.

The Albay Second District Engineering Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) held relief operations on areas devastated by Typhoon Nina in the Bicolandia.

District Engineer Danilo J. Villa Jr. and Assistant District Engineer Eleanor L. Areola spearheaded the relief operation on areas identified by Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) as severely damaged by Typhoon Nina.

More than 500 families from Brgy. Baybay, Malinao benefitted from the relief operation where groceries and used clothes were distributed.

Villar visits projects in Bicol Region

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar conducted random inspection on the projects in Region V after the onslaught brought by Typhoon Nina.

Villar specifically checked the condition of projects in Camarines Sur, Albay, and Catanduanes, the areas directly affected by Typhoon Nina when it hit the region on Christmas Day.

On a meeting with the key officials in the regional office, Villar urged the construction of an expressway running from Lucena City in Quezon province to the provinces and cities in Bicol.

DPWH Paves Road to 3 Majestic Falls of Calbayog City, Samar

The completion of a tourism road project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Department of Tourism (DOT) has provided easy access to three (3) scenic waterfalls in Calbayog City, Samar.

DPWH-Samar First District Engineer Alvin A. Ignacio said that a P50-million project involving the paving of 1,200-linear meter access road has led to increase in tourist arrival at Larik Falls, Bangon Falls and Tarangban Falls.

DPWH clears road debris in Tiwi, Albay

Road obstructions along some of the national roads in the municipality of Tiwi in Albay were cleared by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Albay First District Engineering Office following the aftermath of the Typhoon Nina.

Engr. Leopoldo N. Barela, head of the Maintenance Section, spearheaded the clearing operations along the road sections of Tabaco to Ligao, Tabaco to Tiwi, and Tiwi to Camarines Sur Boundary Road.

Fallen trees, mud flood, and toppled electrical posts are just some of the obstructions that rendered the roads impassable to motorists.

Inspection on Relocation Site for R-10 ISFS

Department of Public Works and Highways – National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) Director Melvin B. Navarro led an environmental scanning at the Pandi, Bulacan relocation site provided for the informal settler families affected by the rehabilitation, reconstruction and widening of Radial Road 10 (Road-10) project. DPWH, together with representatives from the National Housing Authority (NHA) also met with the housing beneficiaries to ensure necessary government assistance are given to the families.
