Multi-Million Sports Complex Rehab On-going

The Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office IX is undertaking the P 187-million major rehabilitation project of the Joaquin F. Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex – an open field stadium located in R.T. Lim Boulevard in Zamboanga City.

Named after the city’s former mayor, the sports complex renovation works commenced on April this year and is expected to be completed in 276 calendar days or less than ten months.

Roads Prepared for Manggahan Festival

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Guimaras District Engineering Office (DEO) is ready for the anticipated volume of motorists that will flock the province in the upcoming Manggahan Festival, which will run from May 11-22, 2016, despite the various on-going road rehabilitation/widening projects.

District Engineer Rolando P. Ubaldo said instruction was already disseminated to all field personnel and contractors of the District to observe extreme caution in the execution of road constructions, rehabilitations and improvement works.

DPWH Southern Leyte Conducts Post-Election Removal of Campaign Materials

The Department of Public Works and Highways Southern Leyte District Engineering Office (DPWH-SLDEO) has started the removal of campaign materials placed on roadsides as part of their year-round road safety drive.

The post-election cleanup along the 299-kilometer stretch of national highway in the province has started on Thursday and will be done on Tuesday next week.

District Engineer Ma. Margarita C. Junia said maintenance personnel have been deployed to remove posters and tarpaulins that were left on roadsides by the candidates and their supporters.

Completion of Solong Bridge Underway

The completion of 362.20-lineal meter Solong Bridge in Sibalom, province of Antique is now on-going and undertaken by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office VI.

According to Assistant District Engineer Edgardo G. Garcia of DPWH Antique District Engineering Office (DEO), the P 91-Million project started construction in April and is scheduled to be completed before the end of the year.

Garnering an average score of 100% in both first and second rounds of the actual field validation for the semi-annual Road Condition Monitoring and Evaluation conducted by the Department of Public Works and Highways - Bureau of Maintenance, DPWH- Cotabato 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) based in Midsayap, Cotabato, is rated as one of the 15 Districts Engineering Offices nationwide with best maintained national roads.

DPWH Inaugurates P676-Million Pamplona Bridge

President Benigno S. Aquino III and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Rogelio L. Singson inaugurates the Pamplona Bridge, a major infrastructure project in Barangay Masi, Pamplona, Cagayan. Implemented by the DPWH Regional Office II at a total allocation cost of P676-million, the 489.8 lineal-meter long bridge and 330.2 lineal meter of concrete approaches provides convenience to the public in transporting agricultural and commercial products to major trade centers in Cagayan Region and neighboring provinces in Region 1 & CAR.

Houses Affected by P8-Billion Road Heightening and Tide Embankment (RHTE) Project Shall Be Relocated or Compensated Prior to Start - DPWH VIII

DPWH Regional Office VIII assures the City government of Tacloban that it will not start the construction of the P7.95-billion Road Heightening and Tide Embankment (RHTE) Project until such time that affected families have been given relocation or just compensation.
