Travel Advisory: Bridge Closure in Batangas, Camarines Sur and Pangasinan

Three (3) bridges in Batangas, Camarines Sur and Pangasinan are closed to vehicular traffic due to on-going construction activities.

The Lapu-Lapu Bridge along San Jose-Ibaan Provincial Road in Brgy. Lapu-Lapu, Ibaan, Batangas was closed to vehicular from May 4, 2015 to November 16, 2015 to give way to on-going construction/replacement works.

Appropriate warnings including directional signs for detour roads are installed to guide motorists and commuters.

In Pili, Camarines Sur, San Jose Bridge was closed to vehicular traffic from May 14 to May 30, 2015.

P932.56-Million Allocated for Road Widening Project Leading to Boracay Island

A total of P932.56 Million worth of infrastructure projects are being implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways, Region 6 to improve the road network leading Boracay Island in the province of Aklan.

This is to address road traffic demand for the increasing number of tourist, foreign and local, flocking to Boracay Island.

Of the total amount, P531.72 Million is allocated for the improvement and widening of Aklan West Road with the total length of 57 kilometers.

DPWH ISO 9001:2008 Certified

The Quality Management System (QMS) set up at the Head Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) including two (2) Regional Offices and two (2) District Engineering Offices assessed against the requirements by the Anglo Japanese American (AJA) Registrars has been formally registered as ISO 9001:2008 Certified. I.S.O. Certification is part of the Department’s program for improving effectiveness and efficiency in serving the public. The DPWH ISO 9001:2008 Registration Certificate was handed over by (at right) Mr. Paul B.

Singson Meets DPWH Scholars for Japan

Three (3) young civil engineers of the Department of Public Works and Highways were granted sponsorship on Master of Environmental Studies by the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE) Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) in Japan for two (2) years. DPWH Completes P176-M Widening of Airport Access Road in Misamis Oriental

Experience ease in travelling to amazing tourism areas of Misamis Oriental in Northern Mindanao with the recent completion of a road widening project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson said DPWH Region 10 has completed the P176 million widening of Opol to Laguindingan Section of Butuan City-Cagayan de Oro City-Iligan City Road (BCIR) which covers the 3.7 kilometer access road leading to Misamis Oriental’s main airport - the Laguindingan International Airport.
