DPWH-NCR July 31-August 3 Road Repair Schedule

The Department of Public Works and Highways-National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) will undertake reblocking and road repair effective 10 PM of July 31, Friday to 5 AM of August 3, Monday on the following roads in the cities of Quezon and Pasig:

Quezon City

-Along Commonwealth Avenue from Commonwealth Market Extn. Overpass to Bicol-Leyte Overpass (2nd lane from median island, South bound)

Pasig City

-Along C-5 Road from Petron Gasul Depot (Beside Petron Gas Station) to Lanuza St. (Innermost lane, North bound)

P230-M Infra Project in North Cotabato

A total of P230 million worth of road upgrading project is currently implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office XII at Magpet, North Cotabato.

Two (2) road projects along Magpet- Nowa- Doruluman – Greenfield Road will pave a total of 10.798 kilometers of gravelled national secondary road. One is the upgrading of the 3.68km road in Barangay Basak and another in Barangay Badiangon paving a 7.16km road.

DPWH Particpates in Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

All Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials and personnel at the DPWH Head Office in Bonifacio Drive, Port Area, Manila, successfully participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill on Thursday, July 23, in preparation for the anticipated earthquake tagged as The next ‘Big One’ along Metro Manila’s West Valley Fault. Simultaneously, employees in DPWH Regional Offices IV-A, IV-B, and NCR, including the DPWH District Offices in NCR also partook in the said earthquake drill within their respective premises.

Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway Set to Open Friday

The first Public-Private Partnership (PPP) road project under the administration of President Benigno S. Aquino III is now opened to the public.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Rogelio L. Singson said the Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway (MCX) also known as Daang Hari-South Luzon Expressway Link Road, a 4-kilometer, 4-lane toll road that will connect Bacoor, Cavite to the South Luzon Expressway, is now ready for public use.

DPWH Formalized Agreement With DENR on Roadside Tree Planting Program

Regional offices of the Department of Public Works and Highways and Department of Environment and Natural Resources in Western Visayas Region entered into an agreement to further enhance the two (2) agencies partnership in the tree planting and growing program along roadsides.

Under the Memorandum of Agreement signed by DPWH Regional Director Edilberto D. Tayao and DENR Regional Director Jim Sampulna, DPWH in coordination with DENR will identify and conduct survey and mapping of roadsides for tree planting activities as an integral part of its regular road maintenance program.

Kennon Road Closed to Traffic as Landslide Occurs

Kennon Road in the Cordillera Administrative Region was closed to vehicular traffic following the occurrence of landslide at K0242+600, Camp 7.

A passenger jeepney and a van were buried under the landslide early Monday morning, July 13, 2015 along Kennon Road in Tuba, Benguet that resulted to one (1) death and injuries to five (5) other persons.

Following the slide, the Department of Public Works and Highways closed the 32-kilometers Kennon Road as it clears debris on the highway.

"Falcon" Update: MNR-Bulacan Section Not Passable to Light Vehicles: 3 Roads in CAR Closed

Four roads in Region 3 and Cordillera Administrative Region are now closed to traffic, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bureau of Maintenance.

As of 5:00 p.m., July 10, 2015, Friday, BOM reported that the SM Section (K0021+000) of Manila North Road in Marilao, Bulacan was closed to light vehicles due to flooding while the following roads in CAR are still impassable due to reoccurrence of landslide, rockslide and mudslide:

BENGUET

1. Baguio-Bua-Itogon Road, K0261+330, Sitio Goldfield, Poblacion, Itogon; and

DPWH Unveils First Mural, Integrity Landmark

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) unveiled its first mural and integrity landmark depicting the history and transformation of the Agency through the years, on June 23, at Roxas, Isabela.

Aiming to inspire the public and young generation of DPWH employees, the public art project which was inaugurated during DPWH’s 117th anniversary celebration took more than two months of planning, designing and carving.
