10 health centers completed in Catanduanes

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar is optimistic that delivery and access to primary health care will improve in Catanduanes with the completion of 10 rural health unit (RHU) projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

In a report from DPWH Region 5 Director Virgilio Eduarte, a total of P33.86-million has been allotted for the construction of the barangay health stations in multiple municipalities of Catanduanes aimed to address the shortage of health facilities in the province.

DPWH completes river control project in Las Piñas

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar announced the completion of P120.76-million flood control structure that will protect the residents from overflowing water of Las Piñas River in Las Piñas City.

Citing a report from Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Las Piñas-Muntinlupa District Engineering Office, Secretary Villar said that the project covers the construction of 325.80 square meters long 5.40 meter high retaining wall with 5.50 meters width of maintenance road.

Farmers and residents of eleven (11) barangays traversing Pilar Road now have better mobility and access to services with the completion of the farm to market road (FMR) projects implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Calbayog City, Samar.

Citing a report from DPWH Region 8 Director Nerie Bueno, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the road widening and rehabilitation projects along Pilar Road which was started in May 2018 was implemented to improve the existing road that has deteriorated over the years.

Started in February 2018 with a total allocation of P62.263 million funded under 2018 General Appropriations Act, the DPWH-Cagayan Second District Engineering Office (DPWH-CSDEO) completed on March 2019 the concreting works of the 1.8-kilometer Ayaga-Sta.Marcela-Flora-Lasam Road in the municipality of Lasam, Cagayan.
