New Bridge Improves Connectivity in Magalang, Pampanga

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has facilitated better connectivity between communities in Magalang, Pampanga by constructing a new bridge.

DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, in his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, said that the newly-completed P54.02-million Sto. Niño Bridge in Magalang town is a 145-meter-long bridge with a bridge span of 64 meters.

DPWH-MMDA-WB Holds Capacity Building on Environmental Safeguards of Flood-Control Projects in Metro Manila

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), together with World Bank (WB), and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) held a 2-day capacity building event in an effort to assess and improve environmental safeguards of the ongoing Metro Manila Flood Management Project (MMFMP) Phase 1.

According to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, participants were composed of selected technical staff from the DPWH and MMDA, along with project management consultants and contractors.

Officials and personnel of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Central Office in Port Area, Manila participated in the "duck, cover, and hold" exercise which is part of the conduct of the First Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 9, 2023. “Duck, Cover, and Hold" exercise is an appropriate and safe action to reduce injury and death during earthquakes.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently completed the construction of two (2) flood control structures along Porac River to protect low-lying communities in Porac, Pampanga against the threat of river swelling during heavy rains.

DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, citing reports from DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, identified the newly-built slope protection along Porac River’s Jalung and Pio Sections to mitigate flooding completed in the amount of P48.84 million and P19.77 million, respectively.

DPWH Launches Month-Long Celebration of Women’s Month 2023

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) joins the world in celebrating the International Women’s Day on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.

The celebration, led by DPWH-Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) Chairperson and DPWH Undersecretary Maria Catalina E. Cabral, focused on the recurring theme for 2023 – 2028, “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society'', in efforts to advance women’s rights, inclusivity, social transformation, and poverty reduction by providing equal opportunities to all Filipinos.
