The completion of a river control project by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has facilitated the protection from the dangers of flooding in Barangay Balongating, Guipos, Zamboanga Del Sur
According to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, a total of P27.268-million was allocated for the construction of a revetment structure along Dinas River measuring 370 meters in length and 4 to 7 meters in height.

“A P20 million farm-to-market road is now being utilized by locals, especially farmers who no longer have to endure bumby, muddy or dusty road when going to neighboring trading centers. This road concreting project has reduced transportation cost and minimized post-harvest loses of vegetable farmers in this area,” said Secretary Mark A. Villar.

Public Works and Highways Secretary and isolation czar Mark A. Villar announced that a new 120-bed capacity COVID-19 quarantine facility in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte has been completed and turned-over to local government unit.
“We opened on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, an additional 120-capacity isolation facility at National Steel Corporation (NSC) Global Multi-Purpose Building that will cater to COVID-19 patients and suspects in Iligan City and its neighboring towns as a response to the growing number of cases in Northern Mindanao,” said Secretary Villar.
