DPWH – JICA Hold First Meeting on Road Disaster and Other Countermeasures on Mountainous Roads in PH

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), joined by Japanese experts, held the first of a series of meetings to discuss the work plan in improving the capabilities of DPWH and its engineers in incorporating the latest technologies to address the problem of road disasters in mountainous areas.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan stressed the importance of the meeting specially to the continuing program of the Department on disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation.

DPWH BBB Infra Projects, Cornerstone of Post-Pandemic Economy

The infrastructure program anchored on the Build Build Build (BBB) initiative still remain among the top economic priorities of the government.

With the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) as one of lead implementing agencies of the BBB Program, Acting Secretary Roger G. Mercado highlighted at the 2021 Philippine Economic Briefing with Foreign Chambers of Commerce held on November 26, 2021 that investments on infrastructure will be the key drivers in bolstering economic development to build a better post-pandemic economy.

DPWH Widens Gov JJ Linao Road in Bataan

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the road widening along Gov JJ Linao Road in Pilar, Bataan which will further improve travel to tourism destination especially the easing of restrictions.

DPWH Bataan Second District Engineering Office facilitated the timely completion of the 1.8 kilometer portion of national road aimed to enhance mobility along the area and provide better access to economic activities in Bataan.

Rockfall Barrier at San Jose - Palauig Road in Tarlac Underway

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is on track with the 13,852.80 square meter rockfall barrier system currently being installed along San Jose – Palauig Road in San Jose, Tarlac.

DPWH Acting Secretary Roger G. Mercado said that the construction of the slope protection using eco-friendly and green engineering materials at the Tarlac side of the 33.217-kilometer access road will ensure safe travel and protect motorists from potential erosion hazards.
