New Road to Benefit Farmers in La Union

With the increase of economic activities and growing farm industry in the province of La Union, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently completed the construction of a 204-meter road project that will reduce half of the usual travel time between the two (2) Barangays of Apatut and Nagsabaran in the town of Balaoan.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Roger Mercado, Region 1 Director Ronnel M. Tan said that the road project will alleviate logistical problems and ensure safer and faster delivery of farm produce in the agri-rich town

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Acting Secretary Roger "Oging" Mercado conducted an inspection of projects at the premier military school in Baguio City.

Secretary Mercado was accorded with foyer honors upon his arrival on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Lim Hall of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA), Fort General Gregorio H. Del Pilar, Baguio City for his inspection of Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad or TIKAS projects which is a convergence program between DPWH and the Department of National Defense (DND).

Secretary Mercado Administers Oath for Newly-Appointed DPWH Directors

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Roger G. Mercado officiated the oath taking ceremony of DPWH Directors whose appointment papers were recently approved by the Office of the President.

Sworn to the position of Director IV are Khaddafy D. Tanggol, Rey Peter B. Gille and Nomer Abel P. Canlas while Denise Maria M. Ayag and Jose Al V. Fruto took their oath as Director III.

DPWH Committed to Fast-Tracking Project Implementation Efforts

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will continue to ramp-up government infrastructure projects nationwide stressing its importance to steer and drive economic recovery and key facilitators to balanced development.

DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado, while appreciating the current performance, said that the agency is committed to further accelerate the implementation of more projects to immediately create jobs, encourage investments, and increase economic activity.

DPWH Resumes Repair Works Along EDSA

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will continue its weekend road rehabilitation works along two (2) sections of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA).

DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado advised motorists to take possible alternate routes until affected road sections re-open.

Under the implementation of DPWH National Capital Region (NCR), repair activities will cover EDSA Quezon City before Anapolis St. to Before Boni Serrano flyover Northbound (2nd lane from center island), and EDSA Tramo Flyover in Pasay City.

DPWH Completes Road Projects Leading to Tourist Spots in Saint Bernard, Southern Leyte

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently paved two (2) local roads to improve access to the tourist destinations of Saint Bernard Town in Southern Leyte Province.

One (1) of the completed road improvement projects involve the P9.6 Million tourism road leading to Southern Leyte Bird Sanctuary and Mangrove Area. Roughly a kilometer stretch of uneven and sandy road was turned into a two-lane concrete road with width of 6.10 meters.
