Bypass Road to Reduce Travel from Surallah, South Cotabato to General Santos City in 1-Hour

Public Works and Highways Mark A. Villar said that the P3.4-billion Surallah-T'boli-San Jose-General Santos City Road is on track with ongoing civil works already reaching 95.21 percent accomplishment.

Citing reports from DPWH Region 12 Director Basir M. Ibrahim, Secretary Villar explained that the multi-year project involves the construction of a 66.69-kilometer, two-lane concrete road, two (2) bridges, with provision of line canal and road safety facilities.

Local farmers of Labason, Zamboanga del Norte have been experiencing a boost in terms of agricultural productivity after the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently completed the paving of a 706-meter farm-to-market road (FMR) in the town.

The newly-improved road in the amount of P12-million connects Barangay Lopoc and Barangay Dansalan, shortening travel time to just eight (8) minutes.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the completed project greatly benefits farmers in Labason relying on corn, chicken, and swine production for their livelihood.

DPWH, PAF Meet to Share Best Practices and Development Programs

A coordination meeting between officials and technical teams of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Philippine Air Force (PAF) was held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 to share former’s expertise in engineering and construction.

With the instruction from DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, the meeting presided by DPWH Undersecretary for Technical Services Maximo L. Carvajal, was attended by a seven-man team of PAF 355th Aviation Engineer Wing Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Board (MSAB) headed by Lieutenant Colonel Arcis B. Obedencio.

96-Bed Isolation Facility In Quezon City Completed

Recognizing the need to augment healthcare infrastructure in the National Capital Region, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a 96-bed capacity quarantine/isolation healthcare facility in Quezon City University in just 18 days.

“These mobile health facilities in Quezon City University were constructed to enable the immediate isolation of mild and asymptomatic COVID-19 cases and mitigate its spread to nearby areas”, said Secretary Mark A. Villar.

DPWH Completes P25-M River Wall Project In Zamboanga Del Norte

To spare lives and properties on the threats of major flooding, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a revetment wall along Talinga River Basin in Leon B. Postigo town, Zamboanga Del Norte.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the new river wall which was completed one (1) month ahead of schedule now protect residents of the flood-prone Barangay Talinga.
