Improved farm to market road to aid production in DavOr

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar is optimistic that the ongoing construction of farm-to-market road (FMR) in the Municipality of Lupon will usher better mobility and improve productivity of residents and farmers in Davao Oriental.

“The new 2.37-kilometer FMR shall boost local agricultural production of coconut, corn, and rice in the resource-rich province,” announced Secretary Villar.

The much-awaited traffic-busting infrastructure that will provide an integrated and all-elevated expressway connection between the North and South Luzon expressways is underway as DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar inspected the NLEX Connector construction site along the Philippine National Railways tracks in Caloocan City together with officials of NLEX Corporation and construction company D.M. Consunji Inc. (DMCI).

P38M DEO BUILDING INAUGURATED

The Zamboanga City District Engineering Office located in Divisoria, Zamboanga City was formally inaugurated by Secretary Mark A. Villar. The P38M office building was constructed to relocate the occupants from the old building constructed during the early 80’s with now bigger and conducive space for the employees. The inauguration coincided during the Regional Directors Meeting held last September 18, 2019.

DPWH supports End-VAW Campaign

Led by the Chairperson on Gender and Development (GAD) Undersecretary Maria Catalina E. Cabral, officials and employees of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) share their part in promoting a VAW-Free office by participating in different activities lined up for its 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women starting November 25, 2018 to December 12, 2018 with the theme “VAW-Free Community Starts with Me.”

Over 5-km Baybay City road widened to 4 lanes

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the widening from two (2) lanes to four (4) lanes of portions of Ormoc-Baybay-Southern Leyte Boundary Road in Baybay City, Leyte.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH Leyte Fifth District Engineering Office chief Eusebio T. Culas said the road’s over 5.175 -kilometer intermittent sections in barangays Pangasugan, Marcos, Hilapnitan, and Maybog of Baybay City are now providing ease to motorists heading to Ormoc City and other parts of northern Leyte.
