DPWH completes 58 new classrooms in Cagayan

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar announced the completion of nine (9) school buildings with a total of 58 classrooms in different schools in the municipality of Baggao, Province of Cagayan.

Based on a report from DPWH-Cagayan First District Engineering Office (DPWH-CSDEO), Villar cited that the school buildings amounting to P78.8 million were funded under the Basic Education Facilities Fund (BEFF) of the Department of Education (DepEd).

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar led on Friday, November 15, 2019 the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of an Internal Affairs Service (IAS) building of the Philippine National Police (PNP) inside Camp Crame compound in Quezon City.

Secretary Villar said that the building will be constructed to provide a decent workplace for IAS personnel who are in-charge of investigating erring police officers which since its creation in 1998 has not occupied a permanent office.

New road to aid formerly displaced residents in Zambo del Norte

A remote village in Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte with about 900 residents are expected to benefit from the 3.2-kilometer completed new concrete road and turned over to the local government by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

“The new Junction National Highway to Kulambugan Road is part of the government’s effort to provide services and curb poverty among residents of Barangay Nonoyan who were formerly displaced from the area due to peace and order issues,” said DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar.

P40-million flood control structure completed in Leyte

A new flood control structure intended to protect residents of Alangalang, Leyte from flooding was completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that a total of P40.95 Million was allocated under the 2018 General Appropriations Act (GAA) for the construction of the new 168-meter riprap and revetment wall in Barangay Salvacion in the town of Alangalang, Leyte.
