Villar opens APEC road and bridge at connecting Los Baños and Bae

Students and residents in Laguna can now traverse an alternative access going to the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) Campus with the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) opening of a newly concrete paved highway connecting Pili Drive, Institute of Plant Breeding (IPB) Road to Gov. F.T. San Luis Road.

“Spanning about 3.8 kilometers, the APEC Road, which started construction during the administration of President Ramos is finally complete and provides a direct access to and from Los Banos and Bae,” Villar noted.

Villar inspects infra facilities in Bulacan military camp

In support of the country’s military force, Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar inspected on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 the construction of several ongoing and completed infrastructure facilities in Camp Tecson, San Miguel, Bulacan.

As the home of First Scout Ranger Regiment (FSSR), Secretary Villar said that the provision and modernization of facilities contribute greatly to training and operations of scout rangers.

DPWH Top Performers

Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) Regional Office 1 remains the top performer for the month of October 2019 among 16 DPWH Regional Offices nationwide in the area of Absorptive Capacity by allocating funds for programs, activities, and projects that are implementation ready and accelerating project execution. Secretary Mark A. Villar recognized the stellar performance of DPWH Region 1 in the Ilocos Region with a plaque of recognition handed to Regional Director Ronnel M. Tan and witnessed by the in-charge for Regional Operations in Luzon Senior Undersecretary Rafael C.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is building a new road and a bridge linking villages in Passi City, Iloilo to boost agricultural production and economic activities in the sugar-rich city.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar expressed confidence that the ongoing construction of the 2.5-kilometer road and 80-meter bridge connecting Barangay Gines Viejo to Barangay Man-it in Passi City will facilitate easier transport of trucks carrying sugar cane from farm to mills.

DPWH completes 58 new classrooms in Cagayan

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar announced the completion of nine (9) school buildings with a total of 58 classrooms in different schools in the municipality of Baggao, Province of Cagayan.

Based on a report from DPWH-Cagayan First District Engineering Office (DPWH-CSDEO), Villar cited that the school buildings amounting to P78.8 million were funded under the Basic Education Facilities Fund (BEFF) of the Department of Education (DepEd).
