DPWH completes P6-M slope protection project in Alamada, North Cotabato

Residents of Barangay Kitacubong, Alamada, North Cotabato now have a defense wall against landslides and road closures with the completion of a slope protection project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) along Banisilan-Guiling-Alamada-Libungan Road.

DPWH North Cotabato 2nd District Engineer Eliseo L. Otoc said the project costing P6.5 million covers the rehabilitation and reconstruction of a 934-square meter portion of existing retaining structure in the area with slips, slope collapse, and landslide.

DPWH proposes funding for new diversion road in Leyte with state-of-the art drainage system feature

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will push the construction of Tacloban-Palo Diversion Road Project in 2019 in order to decongest traffic and curb flooding in Tacloban City and Palo, Leyte Province.

Director Nerie Bueno of DPWH-Region 8 said that the proposed 2.87-kiometer, 4-lane road starting from San Jose-Candahug Road in Tacloban City to Maharlika Highway in Barangay Campetic, Palo, Leyte, traversing the village of Pawing is designed to decongest vehicular traffic at Maharlika Highway and alleviate flooding problem in the area.

Alae Bypass Road connecting Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon, now almost 90% completed

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has already completed 89.8 percent of the ongoing bypass road project that will benefit motorists coming from Alae, Bukidnon to Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental and vice versa.

DPWH Region X Director Zenaida T. Tan said the project dubbed as Alae Bypass Road involves the construction of a 10-kilometer new road, improvement of 7-kilometer existing road, construction of three (3) bridges spanning a total of 237 linear meters, with slope protection and drainage system components.

DPWH highlights the End-VAW Campaign with orange

To cap off the week, officials and employees of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) wore orange shirts, serving as an optimistic symbol for a future without abuse for women, during their flag retreat ceremony on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the DPWH Central Office Quadrangle. The wearing of orange is part of DPWH’s participation to the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and as contribution in spreading awareness to one of the most pressing issues in the world.

DPWH to repair EDSA, C-5 and Batasan Road this weekend

Two (2) road sections of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA), one (1) road section of Batasan Road and one (1) road section of C-5 will undergo road repair and reblocking this weekend starting 11 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2018.

Department of Public Works and Highways – National Capital Region (DPWH – NCR) Director Melvin B. Navarro identified the following roads for repair in Quezon City which include: EDSA, northbound direction after Oliveros Street, 2nd lane from sidewalk; and at the southbound direction before Scout Albano to before Network Drive.
