DPWH Isabela Third DEO builds new classrooms

“The continuous construction of K-to-12 school buildings is part of the shared objective of the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in support to the Build! Build! Build! Program of the government”, said DPWH-Isabela Third DEO District Engineer Editha R. Babaran during the completion of school building projects in their area of jurisdiction.

DEOs, DELP conduct Balik-Eskwela outreach activity

The Department of Public Works and Highway in partnership with the District Engineers’ League of the Philippines (DELP) went the extra mile in providing public service as the 11 District Engineering Offices (DEOs) of Region II conducted outreach programs to various elementary schools recently.

The 11 DEOs in the Cagayan Valley Region headed by their respective District Engineers gave backpacks and school materials to some pupils in different public primary schools as part of the “Balik Eswela” program. This year’s theme is “Delivering Education as Leverage for Progress.

3,182 classrooms completed in time for school opening

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Region V step-up the implementation of school building (SB) projects all over Bicol to address the concern of the Department of Education (DepEd) on the shortage of classrooms.

“Exert utmost effort to increase your accomplishment in the implementation of SB projects in your District,” said DPWH 5 Regional Director Virgilio C. Eduarte in the recent Regional Staff Meeting attending by District Engineers, Division Chiefs and other DPWH 5 key personnel that was held in DPWH RO5, Rawis, Legazpi City.

Revetment to protect flood-prone village in Leyte

A revetment wall will soon rise along Manloy river in Carigara town, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Leyte second district engineering office reported.

The concrete structure is meant to provide protection to the community of Manloy village that is critical to flooding during heavy downpour.

Gerald Pacanan, DPWH Leyte head engineer said that the Php 13 million flood control structure will measure 438 linear meters starting from the existing spillway bridge downstream.

A school building at Calbayog City SPED Center, completed

A three-storey, six-classroom school building is completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways – Samar First District Engineering Office (DPWH-SFDEO) at Calbayog City SPED Center under the 2018 Basic Education Facilities Fund (BEFF).

The revised contract amounts to P14.2 million. The new building will accommodate upcoming and existing students who need special education. This is the first time that a school building will be exclusively used by students with special education classes.

DPWH completes 3 school building projects in time for upcoming school year

More students in the first district of Samar can now have a better learning environment with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) turning-over three newly completed educational infrastructure facilities.

A three-storey, six-classroom school building is built each in Trinidad National Highschool, Tinambacan Central Elementary School, and San Joaquin National High School. These projects are also appropriated with roughly more than P14 million each, benefitting thousands of students this upcoming school year.

DPWH Leyte 1 completes 18-M Flood Control project in Tanauan, Leyte

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Leyte 1st Engineering District, has completed the construction, rehabilitation and improvement of the flood control project along Limbuhan River in Brgy. Limbuhan, Tanauan, Leyte.

The span length of the river control system is 140 lineal meters from Chainage 1090 to Chainage 1230 which amounted to Php 18,610,736.04 and funded under the 2018 GAA. The project was completed in 140 calendar days.

The project is located alongside the national highway which makes it vulnerable flooding when the water level rises.
