DPWH improves local road leading to farmlands in San Rafael, Iloilo

Farmers and residents of Barangay Ilongbukid in San Rafael, Iloilo have experienced better accessibility within their community since the completion of a road concreting project by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

According to DPWH Region VI Director Lea N. Delfinado, access to various farmlands in Brgy. Ilongbukid has improved following the completion of the 706.50-lineal meter road implemented by Iloilo 3rd District Engineering Office (DEO).

Locals and tourists will soon be able to easily-travel around Polillo Island, Quezon Province as the Department of Public Works and Highways continues to implement a road network project traversing its three (3) municipalities.

DPWH Quezon 1st District Engineer Ma. Chymbelin D. Ibal said that a project is ongoing to build approximately 23.10-kilometers of 2-lane road to connect the towns of Polillo, Panukulan, and Burdeos.

Domestic and foreign tourists will soon experience seamless, faster travel to and from the Iloilo International Airport as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) conducts a three-phase road upgrading project along Sen. Benigno S. Aquino Jr. Avenue or Iloilo Diversion Road.

Based on a report submitted by DPWH Region VI Director Lea N. Delfinado, the road upgrading project measuring a total of 5.44 kilometers will be implemented in the towns of Pavia and Sta. Barbara using the total budget allocation of P72.4-million from the 2021 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

Villar Inspects Mega COVID Hospital in Mandaluyong City

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary and Chief Isolation Czar Mark A. Villar on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 inspected the on-going mega hospital project for Covid-19 patients in Mandaluyong City on his last day as head of the agency.

Secretary Villar together with Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain checked the progress of work for the construction of mega hospital inside the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) which can cater to severe COVID-19 cases in the National Capital Region and neighboring provinces from Calabarzon and Central Luzon.

Two (2) national road sections in Region 6 and Region 8 are currently closed to traffic while two (2) are one-lane passable due to flooding and landslide brought by Tropical Depression Lannie.

In a report as of 6:00 am Tuesday, October 5, 2021, Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar said that impassable road was identified in Capiz, specifically at Sigma Mambusao Jamindan Road, K0099+100 - K0101+300, Brgy. Tumalalud & Brgy. Caidquid, Mambusao Town which is now flooded.

DPWH Completes Several Facilities for Scout Rangers HQ in Bulacan

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed several military facilities at Camp Tecson in San Miguel, Bulacan.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that valiant soldiers belonging to the Philippine Army’s First Scout Ranger Regiment (FSRR) can now enjoy the newly constructed buildings and facilities including transient quarters, clubhouse, multi-purpose building, administrative/liaison office, motor pool/parking bays and vehicle auto repair shop, and women barracks.
