DPWH Completes Improvement of Ilocos Norte and Pangasinan Roads

In an effort to improve connectivity in Region 1, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of two (2) local roads in the provinces of Ilocos Norte and Pangasinan.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that improvement of roads will facilitate better access of residents to basic social services especially with the current challenges brought by the pandemic.

DPWH Turns Over New Hospital Facility in Davao City

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has provided additional hospital facility for patients of government-run Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) in Bajada, Davao City.

Secretary and Isolation Czar Mark A. Villar said that two (2) units of modular hospital with a total bed capacity of 44 were completed for the treatment of moderate to severe Covid-19 patients.

Construction of Retarding Basins to Solve Cavite Flooding Woes

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is optimistic that the construction of retarding basins will make flood hazard area in Cavite more resilient during rainy season and swift changes of global weather.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar expressed confidence that the Flood Risk Management Project for Imus River is the most viable solution to mitigate damage on areas vulnerable to flooding in Imus and Bacoor, Cavite.

We have high hopes that this project will reduced flood risk to local homes and businesses, said Secretary Villar.
