DPWH To Turn Over 80-Bed Isolation Facility & 96-Bed Dorms for Hospital Workers at National Center for Mental Health

Additional health care facilities at National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) in Mandaluyong City implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will be turnover to the Department of Health (DOH) by middle of September 2021.

DPWH Secretary and Isolation Czar Mark A. Villar said that the shipping containers repurposed into quarantine/isolation facility for mild and asymptomatic cases at NCMH compound will enable our medical professionals to deal with escalating numbers of Covid-19 infected persons in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

Ormoc City Diversion Road 42% complete

The 11-kilometer distance between Ormoc City’s San Juan and Naungan Village will soon be shortened to only 4 kilometers as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now almost halfway into completing the Ormoc City Diversion Road Project.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH Region 8 Director Nerie Bueno said that the multi-year project is almost halfway at 42 percent completion rate and is targeted to be finished by the year 2023.

DPWH Finishes Concreting of Lucban Bypass Road

The Department of Public Works and Highways has completed the concreting of the entire 3.8-kilometer stretch of the ongoing Lucban Bypass Road Project in the Municipality of Lucban, Quezon Province.

In a report to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH Quezon 1st District Engineer Chymbelin D. Ibal cited that the 4-lane bypass road project can now be utilized by motorists, although there are still remaining works on street lights, drainage and sidewalk.

3 Newly Paved Roads Provide Better Farm-to-Market Access in Guimaras

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has enabled better access between local farms and market centers in Guimaras by completing three (3) road concreting projects in various towns of the province.

Secretary Mark A. Villar identified newly-paved farm-to-market roads (FMR) as the P9.45-million FMR in Barangay Alaguisoc, Jordan; P9.31-million FMR in Barangay Alegria, Sibunag; and P9.45-million FMR in Barangays San Roque, Nueva Valencia.

DPWH Completes Improvement of Ilocos Norte and Pangasinan Roads

In an effort to improve connectivity in Region 1, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of two (2) local roads in the provinces of Ilocos Norte and Pangasinan.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that improvement of roads will facilitate better access of residents to basic social services especially with the current challenges brought by the pandemic.
