P46.26-Million Flood Control Structures Protect Community in Zamboanga City

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of flood mitigation structures along Miluao River in Zamboanga City, protecting the nearby community of Barangay Patalon come rainy season.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the DPWH Zamboanga City District Engineering Office (DEO) implemented the project in two (2) phases, with civil works done from February 2020 to March 2021.

Rehabilitation of Biliran Bridge to Start this July

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently announced that starting July 2021, restoration of the weakening Biliran Bridge will be implemented.

According to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, the P50-million project involves the rehabilitation of bearings of the bridge, repair of bridge deck, replacement of bolts, de-rusting, repainting and retrofitting of the bridge girder using carbon fiber plate and construction of field office for the maintenance crew under the bridge.

DPWH Clearing Works at PGH Substantially Completed, Goes Forward to Testing of Samples from Fire Incident

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that DPWH engineers specializing in structural analysis and material testing will evaluate the samples extracted from building structure affected by recent fire at the Philippine General Hospital.

“No one can tell the level of damage until a proper and thorough assessment and laboratory evaluation of material sample components have been done”, said Secretary Villar.

Paved Road Leads to Better Connectivity in Cauayan, Negros Occidental

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has paved a farm-to-market road linking the far-flung area of Sitio Tis-an of Barangay Isio to other communities in Cauayan, Negros Occidental.

4 sections of EDSA, C-5 for repair this weekend

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will conduct road reblocking and repair along portions of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) and C-5 Road this weekend, starting at 11:00 pm Friday, May 21, 2021 until 5:00 am Monday, May 24, 2021.

Citing a report from DPWH NCR Director Eric A. Ayapana, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar identified sections for repair along EDSA as the north bound direction near corner Kaingin Road, Quezon City covering 60.75 square meters, as well as its south bound to A. Bonifacio Avenue, first lane from sidewalk which is 200 square meters.
