DPWH resumes road repair works in EDSA, C5

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will resume this 11 p.m., Friday, May 28, 2021, its road maintenance works in Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) and Circumferential Road 5 (C-5), Quezon City this weekend.

Citing reports from DPWH – National Capital Region (NCR) Director Eric A. Ayapana, Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the road rehabilitation activities will be undertaken along northbound direction of EDSA, near corner Kaingin Road.

Improved access road eases travel to White Beaches in Ubay, Bohol

An improved access road recently completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now ensures safe and convenient travel to Tapal Wharf and White Beaches in Barangay Tapal, Ubay, Bohol.

Newly-Build School Buildings in Zamboanga Peninsula Ready for Face-to-Face Classes

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of two (2) school building projects in Zamboanga Peninsula.

According to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, a 2-storey school building with four (4) classrooms worth P7-million can now accommodate future enrollees of Lumayang Elementary School in Barangay Lumayang, Zamboanga City.

“In preparation for face-to-face classes, we will continue to implement school building projects to cater to more students and educators while ensuring the safety of all,” said Secretary Villar.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has assisted the growing coconut industry in Sanchez Mira, Cagayan with the construction of a 123-lineal meter access road leading to coconut growers in the town.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the DPWH Cagayan 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) implemented the P2-million project, which was funded through the 2021 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

Rehabilitation of Biliran Bridge to Start this July

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently announced that starting July 2021, restoration of the weakening Biliran Bridge will be implemented.

According to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, the P50-million project involves the rehabilitation of bearings of the bridge, repair of bridge deck, replacement of bolts, de-rusting, repainting and retrofitting of the bridge girder using carbon fiber plate and construction of field office for the maintenance crew under the bridge.
