Ongoing Coastal Bypass Road to Boost Economy in Lianga, Surigao del Sur

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is fast-tracking the construction of a 3.06-kilometer coastal bypass road in the town of Lianga, Surigao del Sur.

“The Lianga Coastal Bypass Road is a major infrastructure project that will increase economic growth in the municipality and boost tourism by making the area a main stopover for foreign and local tourists visiting the various attractions in Surigao del Sur”, said Secretary Mark A. Villar.

Better Road Paves Way to Marawi City Economic Recovery

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that the build back better plan to improveroads in Marawi City is paving the way for recovery of economic activity from aftermath of the 2017 siege in Philippines’ only Islamic City.

Secretary Villar said that the DPWH has already completed road paving works for two (2) out of the three (3) contract packages for the improvement of 18.97 kilometer Marawi Transcentral Road funded by a grant from the Japanese government.

Villar Inspects Safer Diversion Road In Bulacan

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar inspected on Friday, March 12, 2021 another bypass road up north connecting the towns of Pulilan and Baliuag in the Province of Bulacan.

In his briefing to Secretary Villar, DPWH Region 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino said that the four-lane Pulilan–Baliuag Diversion Road has made daily travel between the two (2) towns of Bulacan a bit easier.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) continues to help address the continuing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic with the timely construction of quarantine and temporary treatment and monitoring facilities to alleviate the pressure from health capacity system.

DPWH Secretary and Isolation Czar Mark A. Villar announced that more patients can avail the health services of Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital & Sanitarium with the completion of 22-rooms modular fabricated hospital.
