Situational Report on National Roads and Bridges Status as of 6PM July 27, 2022

Eight (8) road sections are closed to traffic: five (5) in Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and three (3) in Region I due to safety reasons, rockfall, soil collapse and landslide.

All other national roads and bridges in other affected regions are passable to all types of vehicles as of captioned date and time.

DPWH: Assessment of Infra On-Going After Strong Quake Hits Luzon

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has deployed quick response teams to inspect safety of national roads and bridges, as well as other public infrastructure, following a strong earthquake with epicenter in Abra Province.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan instructed the DPWH Regional and District Engineering Offices (DEO) in most of Luzon to immediately check public infrastructure for any damage brought about by the earthquake that could endanger motorists and the general public.

New Road Benefits Farmers in Zamboanga Sibugay

Farmers and residents in Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay are now enjoying faster and more convenient travel with the construction of a farm-to-market road (FMR) by Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

According to DPWH Region 9 Director Cayamombao D. Dia, the 2.74 lane kilometer FMR in Barangay Guinoman is now being utilized by locals, especially farmers, in transporting their agricultural products to the neighboring trading center.

Completed Road Widening Improves Mobility in Siargao

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the off-carriageway improvement along Jct. National Road – Antipolo – Tuboran – Quezon – Mabini Road in Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte.

DPWH Region 13 Director Pol M. Delos Santos said that the widening involved the concreting of the road shoulder and line canal which will help accommodate a larger volume of traffic and ensure the safety and vehicle maneuverability of motorists by clearing the right-of-way (ROW) farther.

DPWH Breaks Ground for Diversion Road Project in Janiuay, Iloilo

As part of its thrust to enhance mobility and improve connectivity, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has commenced construction works on a diversion road that will benefit the people of Janiuay and other nearby towns in Iloilo Province.

Costing ₱38.4 million, the 1.14-kilometer diversion road project involves the construction of a 2-lane, 6.7-meter wide portland concrete cement pavement (PCCP) road with elevation on curves. It also includes provision of lined canal, cross drainage, and slope protection.
