PH, Japan Reaffirm Strong Development Partnership

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the agency in charge of administering Government of Japan's Official Development Assistance (ODA), is committed to support the Philippines wide ranging infrastructure program focused on socio-economic development.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. met with JICA President Dr. Tanaka Akihiko wherein the bilateral agency leader reaffirmed commitment to facilitate the steady implementation of ongoing and future economic cooperation projects in the Philippines as one of the top beneficiaries of ODA from Japan.

DPWH Builds New Varsity Training Center in UP Diliman

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently completed and turned-over to the University of the Philippines a new Varsity Training Center inside the UP-Diliman Campus in Quezon City.

DPWH National Capital Region Director Loreta M. Malaluan said that the new UP Varsity Training Center was constructed with a total floor area of 1879.42 square meters.

“This is a state-of-the-art, research-intensive facility offering a wide range of resources to help UP student athletes reach their full potential,” said Director Malaluan.

DPWH-DOT Develops Agri-Tourism Road in Talisay, Negros Occidental

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the final phase of the reconstruction of an access road to support the agri-tourism industry in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

Implemented by DPWH Negros Occidental 1st District Engineering Office under the Convergence and Special Support Program with the Department of Tourism (DOT), the P34 million project covers the reconstruction of a 1.17-kilometer, 2-lane concrete road with provision of necessary safety and warning signs and markings.

DPWH Improves Aklan West Road

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the upgrading of Aklan West Road in Makato, Aklan.

Based on a report submitted to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan by Aklan District Engineering Office, the completed P29.4 million project involves paving of a 6-lane kilometer roadway with 1.5-meter concrete shoulder of Aklan West Road in Barangay Mantiguib, Makato, Aklan.
